Tell Congress your opinion on the Labeling and Safety Testing of GE Foods

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) recently introduced two bills related to GE crops and foods in the House of Representatives. One bill, HR 5269, The Genetically Engineered Food Right to Know Act of 2006, would require mandatory labeling of all GE foods; the other, HR 5268, The Genetically Engineered Food Safety Act, would require mandatory, pre-market safety testing of GE foods.

Take action on the Approval of Genetically Engineered Fish

The Food and Drug Administration has made the informal decision to regulate transgenic fish under its authority to review new animal drugs. Given the potential toxicity, allergenicity, and aquaculture diseases posed by the commercialization of transgenic fish, CFS is demanding that the FDA adopt a pre-market regulatory review that does not ignore these potential human health safety concerns.

Tell FDA How You Feel About Food From Cloned Animals

A public comment period is open until April 2. Send your letter to FDA and let them know if you support the addition of milk and meat from cloned animals, unlabeled, into our food supply.

Contact your Senators and give them your opinion on labeling of food from cloned animals

In response to FDA's December announcement that they will likely approve milk and meat from cloned animals for food production, U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) has introduced the Cloned Food Labeling Act. This act would require any foods contaning products from cloned animals or their offspring be labeled as such.
